Philip J. Giordano

Philip J. Giordano has been a general partner and chief financial officer of Murphy & Partners, L.P. since 1999. Mr. Giordano joined the M&P team in 1989 as president, chief executive officer and a director of Calendar Broadcasting, Inc., an M&P portfolio company, as well as June Broadcasting, also an M&P portfolio company. Calendar and June owned and operated nine radio stations in four major media markets. Mr. Giordano successfully sold all of the stations to two major radio-broadcasting companies in 1996 and 1999.


Mr. Giordano currently serves as a director of Mosaica Education, Inc., and from 2004 – 2008 was the president and chief executive officer of N B Education, which he founded. In 2006, Mr. Giordano acquired IntelliTec Medical Institute in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mr. Giordano has been a director of several M&P portfolio companies, including chairman of Little Tornadoes, Inc., and a director and treasurer of American Higher Education Development Corporation (“AHED”). Mr. Giordano was very involved in the acquisition, financing, and management for AHED of both Stautzenberger College and Rockford Business College and managed the sale of AHED.


Prior to forming Calendar with M&P in 1989, Mr. Giordano was a senior executive for 17 years with the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). He first joined ABC in 1972 and held various positions in finance, marketing, and operations on the corporate level, in television and in radio. In September 1986, he was appointed Senior Vice President/Finance, ABC Radio Network and then in January 1988 was named Senior Vice President ABC Radio Network.


Mr. Giordano is a Vietnam War veteran where he served as a captain on the staff of the General of the Army in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He has an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology and a BBA from Manhattan College.
